Halo2Boards.com suggestions thread!!!
Here is a thread for the Master Chief to check every once in a while. Here go suggestions for the site. I have seen a few issues, here goes:
I have a suggestion. You know how when you go to a members public profile it says "find all posts by (person's name)" ? I think that the whole post should be displayed instead of a link. I also think there should be a check box next to every one of them. Then there should be a button at the bottom of the page saying "delete selected posts". Like the Pm system. There are checkboxes there too. This would be a useful tool for moderators.
I also think we should switch carriers. This board is covered by vBulletin. I think we ought to go with Invision Boards. We can have a 120 by 120 avatar, and a picture sig without it getting laggy. We can also increase our sig from 300 characters max to 500! It would be better. Also I think we should have a special area of the site made for roleplays of any kind. Your Rp posts should also be added to your count.

Hi guys, this is a good idea here. Regarding the software running this board. I put a good bit of time, and money into the software and the site design and getting it all working together. Since this site doesn't make me any money it will be hard to switch over to another system.
Since I didn't write the coding for this system I wont be able to add the feature of checkboxes for deleting threads, but it is a good idea. Maybe you could go to the vbulletin website and suggest it for them there.
Regarding Avatars and signatures. I do have the ability to make those changes, but we are at our current settings because people abused the features in the boards early days. If you guys think we have come far enough that we might can return to larger images (keep in mind that these slow down the site) and longer signatures.

I would like signatures, but not to large. The lag really did bog me down back in the days of a regular prophet. Sometimes i couldnt even come to the site. If we do actually do this, maybe you could do an annual check of all the sigs and make sure they arent to lare. Or maybe that could be a moderators job?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't InvisionFree a free boards service? I thought it was. My games company uses X10, I don't know how much it costs though.

i would say that we should go for it but see what everyone does, because we have already had a few complaints about people putting bad stuff about other members in thier signarutes

Personally, I think that the mods are fine here. Remember, we already have many mods and we shouldn't have any more uses as a mod. Then we'd have too many priveliges (sp) and we'd be small admins. So, maybe we should keep the mod thing. But if it does make the site lag, then we should only have about as much in our sig as 500 characters. Maybe we should make our avvys a bit larger, but not by much. Like MC already said, it'd make the site lag. -_-

invision free? aint that the thing they use with halobabies? i dont like the layout. you cant see whos online, and vbulletin makes it alot easier to delete posts
