MC will probably die, that way bungie wont get a million emails that they want another halo game, because they dont want halo to become long and drawn out and have "Halo Pro Tennis" or "Halo Baseball" like mario does. although, that "Halo Pro Tennis" does sound pretty cool

The prophets are like I said, warlords. They won by tacticals, not brute force. The prophets fought a bloody war, most of them were wiped out, and the prophets aren't all JUST truth, regret, and mercy. There are probably others, but they are probably the smartest. They were said to have had a mind device, like having psychic abilities, to conquer their enemies. They are said to have come from the forerunner themselves. They were not slaughtered, because the elites realized they were smarter, giving them a higher rank. The elites surrendered to the prophets and a treaty was made, the offer was in exchange for salvation, and power. Growing in number, they decided to seek out other races, and make them "...so bow to their knees in the presence of our Lord and might. For the Holy covenant shall not be stopped, and the Lord's prophecy of the great journey may be concieved."
This was taken from the book, "the final five" describing what was supposed to be the entire halo story, before halo was made, because Halo 2 was started before Halo 1, so they knew how it would almost be, but they left out The fall of reach and how John came to be. It starts with the forerunners, goes to the halo ring that we destroyed, through the high council, Then through the Humans eyes now, on a ship, on standby to board a covenant ship, then they blow up some ships like they do in the other books, (the series) and then the flood finds earth, right as The covenant army gets there (kind of like "the thing", they take over a grunt, and travel to earth on a covenant "Pharaoh"
ship, then they infest earth, and the covenant start winning the war again, and then when all hope seems lost, The SPARTANs drop in, Rage a one-hundred-page war on the covenant, (and the prophets fight actually, using psy abilities) And then after John being the only one left, He uses the Booster pack in his suit, and the engine of the ship, to make a slipstream jump using one of the crystals like the one they found in Reach, to the frozen covenant homeworld, where the ship's last coordinates were set when They jumped from their world to earth, and since the calculations are off (they moved before they jumped) John has to use his Booster, and his suit begins to crumble in the space atmosphere, and you know, dramatic stuff like his helmet cracks, his crystal shatters, he chokes because of lack of oxygen) and in his last breath, Cortana appears as an angel, (but is a hologram) and uses her energy (by deleting herself and turning into energy, Fires the thrusters, and the Master chief throws the Flood teleportation form onto the planet, then dies.
