In Halo 2 they had to make a weapon that
is the counterpart for the shotgun. So they
made a devistating short range weapon
named the energy sword. I have seen picture
of the old Halo on pc and saw that humans
had their own sword. It looks much like the
sword that you see on setting selections for
difficulty. It would be so fun to see Master
Chief with a human sword and an sacred elite
(The elites that are white with those huge
helmets. You can see them in the beginning
of Halo 2 when the arbiter is on "trial") with
an enery sword fighting it out. This is my
wish for Halo 3 and please bungie make it
happen. :o

yes, they will have a machetie. it was dropped out of the original halo along with the single barrel rocket launcher, flame thrower, covie engineer, smg, and a unlimited ammo pistol. but t6hey lefdt the code for trhe engineer in halo pc, so you can make a modded map with it. and obviously, the flame thrower is still in halo pc, but with major ajustments.

it would be cool to bust out the samurai sword. and do an flying bird attack like in ninja gaiden.

Ok you think your hard? Ive seen that the ODST have that "sword" on their back. The blade barely covers their back, makeing the blade around 12 inches max. Thats a foot long blade, thats a Knife buddy. Drop it, you dont know what you are on.

It would be neat to see a human sword...one wuestion though. would it be able to by pass the shields since its some thing solid and not a bullet or plasma bolt? or would it take the shields out them kill the elite? (elites are the only one with shields...other than jackles)

What the human sword be made out of is the question, the Covenant energy sword is plasma energy.

The human sword you speak of is more like a knife, it's only like a foot long. Besides, a steel sword, unless wielded by the Chief, wouldn't be able to pierce an Elites armour. And, even wielded by the Chief, it wouldn't be able to pierce thier energy shields, making it kinda pointless. Unless they say that the Humans kept an energy sword, copied it and made it better, as they did with the Chiefs energy shields.

Making it electric like a taser and it'd electrocute things to death or better yet act like an Electromagnetic Pulse and take down energy shields and then you could chop up some Covenant.

Flaming swords would be awesome, but you would have a flaming MC, or maybe just exploding grunts, you know their methane tanks, which is good to know that it is flammable and when it's compressed they'll go kaboom!

Make a sword that runs on gasoline, oh wait we already have one, a chainsaw, WOOT!

Poison Swords would also kill.

Swords might even be better at killing hunters, because you might be able to sneak up on one and slice into its extremely vunerable back. We could even throw knives at it.

But, afterall are swords really that useful today? They aren't ranged, the Covenant would mow us down before we got to them. This even happens with something as advanced as the energy sword. The most useful place for swords to be would be mounted on the front of a warthog, as stainless steel spikes that can be activated and come out of the car when the going gets rough and then retract to make sure enemies aren't stuck on the Warthog. It also should have a water nozzle to clean them off.

a 1 foot long blade is not a knife. thats a short sword. a knife officially stops being a knife around 8-10 inches

A combat knife takes the fun out of halo. Because you dont need to crouch behind corners and stab people. In halo you can run out in the middle of a Firefight!
