I believe that there needs to be a new shotgun in Halo 3. I like the power that the one in Halo 2 has, but the rate of fire is terrible. It takes like 5 seconds to pump a new shell into the chamber. In close combat, your usually toast by then. They should either increase the rate of fire, or make it semi-auto or something, I think that would be cool.

The shotgun is a little slow but, it can do some damage in a small board like midship or help out alot in multiplayer.

Im not saying that the shotgun is bad, I just think that it could be improved on a little.

Yeah, the shootgun in halo1 have more power and mor distan shoot and charge more fast.

I think we all agree it needs work, but I still own with it, it just needs skill and good knowledge of enemy range and the map

well said but anyway i do think there should be a new type of shotgun. Maybe a proper shotgun that needs reload every time you shoot. If you dont know what im talking about go on Counter-Strike and use the non automatic shotgun

The whole point of this thread was how to make the shotgun better, which pretty much meas that it should have a faster rate of fire. This thread isnt about any single shot break action crap, I'm talking semi-auto, or faster pump action.

The Shotgun should have a faster fire rate, but not too fast otherwise it would be too good, like on the first halo

Yeah, I agree, not too fast, but a little faster, fast enough to get 2 shots off before you get toasted in extremely close combat.

Yes i agree with u to a certain extent, but like everyone else is saying, not too fast because video games today are trying to become more realistic (and i know a planet-like ring in space isnt exactly realistic), and in real life shotguns dont do that, but it should still be faster anyway, but like i said, not too fast.

Yes, but you must consider that the year of Halo 2 is 2552. And im sure that by then weapons would be extemely advanced. And there are even semi-automatic shotguns today, in the year 2005. It's well within the realm of possibility. The only problem with it would be that it may be a bit too powerful if it was semi-auto.

Nah I rekon this shotgun is alright maybe a bit more powerful to deal with the energy sword.

I dont think that because there are lots of possibilities that the shotgun could undertake and they only need to fing one of the best ideas and then put it into practise

I totally agree. It could also use a double-barrell, for even more affective blows.
